I feel like I just received an early Christmas present. <3

Love Love Century, a voice acting skit made by Shadilyn and Muki

Amazing.

They managed to include a lot of the traits for each of the characters, and yet they still managed to destroy every single character, it's hilarious! xDDD And they even have a Ruina! (who reminds me of Rise from Persona 4 lol )

omg emoemo Beyll xDDDD;;; And I dunno whether this was intended, but Elthee sounded so gay in the beginning pfffffff. xDDDD

Woa, long time no post here. I really have nothing new to display here anymore since everything I make gets used for vote incentives, and I haven't been able to work faster to make extra stuff that's not a reuse of the incentives. And those sketches are due to be uploaded to the main site at some point anyway, so this blog has really lost its purpose. :/

I'll paste another reuse for now and think about what to display here in the future. D:

I probably won't be able to work on this again till next year. orz

Some recent sketches I've used as incentive until... just last week I believe:

Creating motion makes me want to /headdesk
Attempting foreshortening makes me want to /facepalm
However, I am happier with what I'm doing now compared to my previous attempts. I don't think I'll ever be happy with what I do (in a sense, I don't know if I ever want to be... but let's still try to get the basics right =_=; )
Drawing animals... eh, I'm not even gonna start on that. I do keep going back to drawing pics of characters with an animal(?) buddy though, I wonder why.

Another animal buddy kinda sketch. Beyll has strange friends.

PF3 is in its final chapter right now. I've been keeping up with what's going on, but I failed to contribute anything last chapter due to Persona 4 distraction. OwO;;; I made this very quickly today though:

Someone is putting together a Persona parody poster to support the country of Gigandal, so artists were asked to make parody shots of their character(s) like that. xD Persona parody was just too awesome to pass up; plus it was very simple.

...I wanted to talk about something else, but I can't remember anymore. NRGH. D:

Pixiv Fantasia III

For those who actually check out my dA or MB accounts, you may have noticed I mentioned Pixiv Fantasia III (or PF3) there on my two latest submissions:

PF3 is an event going on over at pixiv right now where artists draw OCs/items/locations/etc in a fantasy world RP. There's a very well put together summary with a list of current events and such here by maiki. I noticed many English-speaking artists I follow were talking about it and making characters, so I kinda jumped on the bandwagon too and made the above two and a pixiv account (I didn't have one prior to joining this event /swt).

People who know me well may know that I'm not really into RPs in general, but this event has been very interesting, I've actually been trying to follow up with it and participate once in a while, my recent contribution being a mass purchase of ネ口耳(nekuchimimi) (which are pretty much cat ears that has the power to curse one of the country's leaders lol) to give out to the guild I joined. Just as an example of how this world really revolves around the artists' ideas, that item was based off another creation, the ネロ耳(neromimi), which sends support vibes to the aforementioned country leader. Someone even made a dog ears variation too for the dog fans, but with no special effects. xD

I've been more of a follower than a contributor so far (some people submit stuff DAILY. Man, I can't imagine... and awesome quality too x_x;; ), but I'm hoping to see through this event till the end. Chapter 2 just ended today (total of 4 chapters) and the event ends on May 10th Japan time.

On a final note, I'd really love to see some of the English-speaking art communities try to pull off something like this. O_O It does sound like a lot of work for the mods (with counting up all the points for each story and all), but seeing how successful it's been on pixiv, I'd really love to see someone give this a thought.

...well, maybe they weren't intended to be presents, but I'm calling them presents anyway. *bricked*

scones colored the manga page that Elthee hogged. <3 I love the color choices she made for the houses in the back! And I never really noticed this before since I always work in black and white, but adding colors to speech bubbles and panel lines really make them pop out at you, it's really cool. *_*

I didn't come up with any April Fool's prank to put on my site. Maybe next year. But I did sketch a chibi comic for the occasion:

The extra didn't exist at first, but the first part by itself didn't feel like a nice bday comic for Elthee. xD; It was going to be either this or a more prettified sketch of Beyll hugging Elthee ~~(which is inconceivable, but... it's his bday... and it's April Fool's xD)~~, but I slacked and picked the chibi route. :P Let's hope I can come up with something more clever and refined next year. Last year was a creepy oekaki, so I think this is still a step up? And maybe do an April Fool's prank too, some sites are pulling some really clever ones this year.

...I really should put together those VA recordings from last year... *swts* But I think I'm still missing a complete Elthee (or maybe even Beyll too? I'll have to check again). Even so, I should still try to make a VA section on the site to post all of the recordings I've received so far.

While I'm still on the subject of VA, if I can get enough people interested (which is always a challenge for me OTL... but let's just suppose I succeed for a change)... VA contest? Yea or nay? I'll have to think about how it could work, but the idea just popped up and it sounded fun. Maybe a contest to decide on character VAs to voice lines from the actual manga (like keyk did up there), or submissions based on original/themed skits with all of the voices and sfx put together, etc. This would be more fun and actually sounds more realistically possible than some radio/drama skits series idea I had ages ago, which would require constant participation from everyone involved (whereas a contest is just a one-time thing). And it doesn't help that the manga hasn't really established itself yet and isn't very far into the actual plot either... and you know, slow page updates...*BRICKED*

That's a lot of kids, Beyll.

And since this is an art blog after all, I feel obligated to post some sort of artwork... so have a new sketch:

Something I started while trying to think of the cover for Chapter 2, but it didn't seem fitting... so I might use this for Chapter 3 instead. 8D; We'll see.

I don't know if you can see through that paper, but the page after that is the sketch for the current vote incentive: the sexy(?) Valentine version Eynord. Vote on the manga site to go see and get creeped out. xD

I think I'll take a break from working on that CG from the previous entry... I kept working on it everyday and made little progress, but it eventually got to the point that it was making me cry at least once a day (which sounds very silly... O____O;;; Note to self, don't do CG experiments right around emo week). I'll work on commissions, and maybe finally make buffer pages.

This is really frustrating.

Censor block, not for spoilers, but because his face is scary. >____>;;; May or may not get fixed as I keep coloring.

I kept switching back and forth between Corel Painter IX and Adobe Photoshop CS for who knows how many times. It got really frustrating, so I'll stop here for now... and most of my time disappeared just on the hair!! I don't remember how many retries it suffered already... I think I might start hating this character just because his hair is so frickin' impossible to get right. Then again, hair has been my least favorite areas to color for a while... Maybe I should move on to other areas first. OTL

The colors changing every time I switch between programs also doesn't help.

Sadly, I couldn't be very creative with the Magitek Armor and ended up posing it the same as the ref pic I used. But as I'm not any skilled mecha illustrator and the ref pic itself was hard to decipher, it ended up looking like something else. =_=; Maybe I can fix it up when I color it... if I do color it... *swts*

For those who have expressed interest in coloring this in the last entry, if you're still interested, go ahead. Just remember to give me credit for the original sketch. And sorry about that spine blur, you can just crop it off or something. =_=;

Big empty space towards the bottom should be filled with Magitek Armor, if I could find a good ref!! Dx I found one that should work if I can stand staring at it for long periods of time. My eyes are still exhausted, things look more blurry than they normally should.

...I kinda wanna work on this more than work on my manga page that's supposed to be up sometime today... *SWTS*

I've also been listening to the music on the Japanese official Dissidia website repeatedly. It's been helping me stay in a good mood. It's also been making me itch to play more Dissidia, or possibly pick up the original FF6 game. Despite my current FF6 obsession that struck me out of nowhere, I've never finished that game...

I don't know if you could tell from that snapshot up there, but there are two dates on it. That is how much sketching I got done in two days (see, I'm not kidding when I always say I'm slow). Even though the pace is probably slower than ever, I guess this new approach to daily sketching is helping me pay more attention to details, give me more time (at least more than 24 hours) to stock up on ideas, and be more at ease in general; I don't have to freak out over having to finish a sketch in a day anymore (I'm sure I never had to freak out about it in the first place, but I guess it's kinda like how I used to deal with schoolwork. I know that I won't get this anywhere and it'll just be a waste of my time if I don't take it seriously.)

I added a prize section to the Christmas Event from a few entries back. Basically, participants will be entered in a raffle, and the winner gets 1 free CG request. Depending on how many participants I get, I may open additional slots (maybe not necessarily for CG, but maybe sketches or something). People who send presents from the given list will have their name entered once, and people who send their original gifts will have their name entered twice.

And I'm out of new sketches to post again. I need to scan.

Happy Halloween~! :D As Elthee has pointed out in the chatbox, if you think you're on Beyll's bad side, now is the chance to save yourself! Give Beyll candy offerings (I dunno... you can draw fanart or simply spam the chatbox with offering posts. You can tell this is a spur of the moment idea, eh? xD ) and he might just decide to keep you alive until next Halloween! If you miss it, don't worry; Beyll has a birthday coming up on November 4th! (Election Day for those of us in the US, hehe xD). I should just make 10/31-11/04 a Beyll Appreciation Period to make up for all the teasing. I dunno, just have some fun with it. I'll plan for something better next year. xD
